The blood donation camp will be located in the large Banquet Hall at Evoma, with concurrent queues to process donors and get them through in and out quickly, without a long wait.
Every donor will be issued a “Certificate of Appreciation” in service of humanity from Lions Blood Bank for the voluntary blood donation, and their employer will get an Institutional Certificate and Memento.
Also, every donor is assured of eligibility for one unit of blood free of the usual service charges that must be typically paid, in case of emergency requirement of blood for yourself, your parents or spouse.
Blood donation tips – Before and after
Before donation: You’ll get refreshments, but donors are advised to have a normal breakfast or lunch before coming for donation. Also, do ensure you have a good night sleep, and NO alcohol intake allowed for donors in the 48 hours prior to coming for donating blood at the camp.
After donation: Do not smoke immediately after blood donation. Drink plenty of fluids after donation. If you feel giddy, lie down and raise your feet up.
This is the second year running that Evoma and Lions Blood Bank have organized a Blood Donation Camp at Evoma OMR. Last year’s camp was a huge success, and we expect the same or larger response this year.
Lions Bloodline also maintains a donor directory, which currently has over 5,200 donors listed who respond promptly to patients and hospitals who call, asking for blood in case of emergencies.
Bangalore Sanjaynagar Lions Charitable Trust has been publishing this donor list annually since 1996, and donors attending the Blood Donation Camp at Evoma are welcome to get themselves listed in the directory as well.
